Firm Description

Sherrard Kuzz LLP is one of Canada's leading employment and labour law firms.
We represent the interests of employers, unionized and non-unionized, operating in both the public and private sectors. Our clients are domestic and foreign ranging in size and complexity of operations from small, single-location, single-business enterprises to large, diverse, multinational corporations.

Our unique approach to the practice of law has earned us recognition as the employment and labour law firm employers come to for practical, realistic, strategic and creative advice.

We understand that we are service providers, whose principal mandate it is to assist our clients to achieve their business objectives, efficiently and lawfully. We do this in a number of ways.

We do our homework. We spend considerable time – not billed – learning about each client’s priorities, objectives, industry, history and competitors. This detailed business knowledge enables us to advise our clients proactively and strategically - often resolving issues before they become a concern.

We are business conscious. We understand that organizations operate in a business world, not a legal textbook. We ensure that our advice is timely, responsive, practical and realistic within the larger business context.

We are creative. We know that ‘you can’t do that’ is one of the easiest answers a law firm can offer. That’s not good enough for us. If our client reaches a roadblock we work together to navigate around it.

We are accessible. Our live 24 Hour telephone number is answered by a Sherrard Kuzz lawyer, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We appreciate that workplace issues do not always arise between 9 and 5; if an issue is important to our client, it is important to us.

We are down to earth. We take our work for our clients very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves seriously. We also do our best to ensure that every client interaction with a member of our team is professional and pleasant.

We sincerely believe that our success as a firm can only be measured by the success of our clients.

In all of these ways, Sherrard Kuzz LLP is more than a law firm; our legal team becomes a part of each client’s management team. This is our firm's practice philosophy. It informs the way we do business every day, distinguishes Sherrard Kuzz LLP from other law firms and continues to ensure highly successful and lasting client relationships.
